Upstating
A cozy 48 hours in Upstate NY—everything we saw, ate, and shopped (yes, including a giraffe)
Happy Tuesday, friends. A slightly less fashion, more travel-inspired post today after an amazing weekend upstate that I’ve been itching to write about—although keep reading for a few Hudson-chic looks I spotted along the way.
To celebrate our three-year anniversary, my boyfriend and I decided to take a trip upstate. Crazy to admit, but in three years together, Justin and I had never taken a true “just us” trip, so we were very excited.
I’m a city girl at heart, but growing up in London and now living in New York has taught me to appreciate stepping away from the noise and just breathing for a bit.
After 48 hours in the fresh Catskill Mountain air, we were fully channeling season four Carrie and Aidan from Sex and the City. I’m happy to report I came back feeling refreshed—and ready to take on another week of work and Manhattan madness.
S4 SITC - Carrie in her country bumpkin era and Aiden looking handsome as always (yes, I’m an Aiden girl sorry)
We kicked off our trip with a delicious brunch at Wildflower Farms in the Hudson Valley. Their restaurant, Clay, offers farm-to-table dishes made with ingredients sourced directly from the property or from local farmers. The interior is just as memorable—cozy and rustic, with an open kitchen concept and fig trees nestled in between plush velvet sofas.
Our view from brunch…swoon
After our meal, we popped into the hotel’s shop, which sadly isn’t available to browse online. I did manage to snap a few photos, though, because the visual merchandising was so elevated. The shop features a thoughtfully curated mix of garden-inspired items in collaboration with Gardenheir New York. Highlights included bright orange clogs, embroidered cocktail napkins and colorful tapered candles—perfect for anyone who loves to host.

We finished the morning with coffee by the fire on the Great Porch, which was just perfect. It was a little chilly, but they provided blankets and heated pillows, making the whole experience feel even cozier and more relaxed.
Still thinking about this amazing view
From there, we drove to Saugerties, which is full of charming vintage and antique shops. Some highlights included a gorgeous lacquered wood dresser and a pair of epic python Anne Taylor loafers. Sadly, neither came home with us, but if you’re ever in the Saugerties/Hudson Valley area, make sure to stop by Pop Vintage.
For dinner, we headed over to Woodstock and grabbed a drink at Small Talk, a deliciously dark and cozy cocktail bar with a great menu. I had the Big Pink, and Justin ordered the house martini with pepper brine—so good. After a couple of drinks, we made our way to SILVIA for our dinner reservation.
A longtime favorite, SILVIA did not disappoint. We were greeted by a lovely hostess who led us to the bar while we waited for our table—a perfect spot for people-watching, with a mix of locals and tourists. For dinner, we ordered the wood-smoked pork chop, chicken schnitzel, and local mushroom pasta rags. Everything was so delicious that we even enjoyed the leftovers for lunch the next day.
This was easily one of the highlights of our trip, and I would definitely recommend it if you’re in the area!
We decided to end our trip in Hudson, a town I’ve visited before—but it had been so long that I’d forgotten just how charming it is. The local coffee shops were delicious, and we highly recommend grabbing a blueberry scone from Hudson Roastery. The weather was perfect, so we took a stroll down Warren Street, which is lined with a seemingly endless array of shops.
I had heard great things about Jamestown, but sadly it was closed for its spring refresh. We were, however, greeted by the cutest chap in the window, so it was still worth the stop :)
We had so much fun popping into the different furniture stores around town. My favorite was Finch, which is housed in an old police precinct. It spans two floors of incredible modern and vintage furniture, art, books, and even clothing. I actually squealed when I spotted that their women’s assortment included the exact Le Set pants I had been eyeing. They also carried some beautiful Guest in Residence cashmere—one of my favorites—as well as pieces from Nili Lotan.
I loved these lamps from Finch, esepcially the chrome plated Flowerpot lamp by Verner Panton
Our final stop was the Antique Warehouse, a 40,000-square-foot vintage and antique heaven. From clothing to art to taxidermied giraffes (!!!), you can find just about anything under the sun here. If you’re looking for something unique, this place probably has it. I was so close to buying an amazing grid-style mirror framed in oak, but sadly our New York apartment isn’t quite big enough. We did, however, pick up a gorgeous rustic floor runner, which we’re planning to hang above our bed as a tapestry (pics to come).
Last but certainly not least, we stopped at Applegate Farms on our drive home for a sweet treat—because, of course.
Hope your weekend was just as delicous and fun. Happy buying xo
